6 December 2006
In 2006 I was hired at Freelin-Wade. Immediately I started work on a catalog and hired a product photographer to shoot some tubing. On the day that I needed the pictures, I was pacing the floor, waiting on word from the photographer. Finally, at about 3:30, he sent me a picture — not of tubing but of himself on a boat holding a salmon. The caption was, “The river was calling.” I fired him that day and on my way home, I bought a light table and lights. I became a photographer that night and took this picture.
